Village Gift Barn

Naturally-Inspired Tablescapes

The Barn Decor, Tuesday TutorialBVGB Marketing1 Comment

Once spring rolls around, we're all eager to fill our lives--and our dinner tables!--with lots of color. Especially GREEN! If you want to create a magical and intriguing tablescape for spring?  There's nothing like incorporating the beauty of Mother Nature into your dinner plans! Don't stop at thinking outside the box when creating your tablescape--think outside the house, too!

Consider adding a simple manufactured bird's nest or cage with a few faux eggs or miniature plush animals as part of your place setting. Coordinate the egg colors with your meal's theme.

Substitute a green wreath for your charger under your guests' dinner plates, and add a piece of ceramic fruit for visual interest and contrast.

Mix and match your dinnerware for fun pops of color.

I also love using cake stands to create height on my table and/or buffet {Gracious Goods cake stands, beverage dispensers, and accessories available at Village Gift Barn, Berlin, Ohio}.

Scour thrift stores for tiny silver dishes, tea canisters, or flour sifters, then pop in a few hens and chicks, baby's tears, or other miniature plants. {Vintage-inspired tea canisters with faux plants: Country Gatherings, Berlin, Ohio.}

Fill small galvanized pots or stoneware with succulents, or with fresh herbs, like chives, thyme, rosemary, and parsley. Provide vintage sewing scissors for guests to add fresh herbs to their dish.

However you create your tablescape, have fun, and remember that the whole purpose is to enjoy gathering together with family and friends. After all, they are the most important part of the meal!
